InnoVision Medical Technologies was back in Las Vegas for the HIMSS25 Global Health Conference & Exhibition, held from March 3-6, 2025, in Las Vegas connecting with industry leaders addressing the pressing challenge of medical device interoperability.
We participated in an Interoperability Showcase hosted by BBraun, Ascom and Epic showing a solution for tracking the patient association to an IV pump, and IV pump alarms, even when the pump needs to be programmed manually and not through an order placed in the EMR. We brought our PCIM (point of care identity management) software to the demonstration to assure continuity of patient device association. Our manager software allows the IV pump, the alarm system, and EMR all know which patient is receiving which infusion on which pump.
The software is the first manager built on IHE PCIM standard profile. It was successfully demonstrated at the IHE International North America Connectathon 2025 in Toronto a few weeks before the HIMSS meeting. We collaborated with leading medical technology providers to validate the standard and our ability to deploy the manager software to help deliver smart, connected healthcare solutions.
Outside of the interoperability showcase HIMSS25 was a great opportunity to learn about what is new in connected healthcare, catch up with old friends and colleagues, and search out new business relationships that will contribute to a more connected and efficient healthcare ecosystem.
